ConnoQuin Alpacas

Welcome to ConnoQuin Alpacas!

about us

Located in the rolling hills of western Pennsylvania, ConnoQuin Alpacas' mission is to provide signature service and support to the growth and improvement of the North American alpaca herd.  Our focus on high quality huacayas of solid color has become our family's passion.  The development of elite genetics has been our goal from the beginning.  Keeping the end use of alpaca fleece in mind, our breeding program is focused on developing alpacas with extreme density and fineness in solid colors.  We believe that our breeding program must keep an eye to the future of it's end product use.  When alpaca fleece reaches production quantities, fleece weight will be priority #1.  Breeding stock with these characteristics will provide the foundation for the North American production herd.

By the way, did we mention how much fun this is?  "Alpaca time" is definitely the best part of our day.  Where else can you free your entreprnurial spirit, befriend Uncle Sam, improve your property, and surround yourself with incredible people?  What about the alpacas?  Well let's see, where do I start.  They're lovable, but not needy.  They're not high maintenance, but they're not goldfish either.  The eat, sleep and poop, each in moderation.  They're red wine and Red Bull.  They're the little magic pill for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, stressful days and sleepless nights.  They don't come in blue, but their palette of hues in white, fawns, browns, black and greys will satisfy anyone's taste for rich natural tones.  Get your hands on a few and you'll figure it out.  In fact, stop by the farm and we'll show you around.

Company History

ConnoQuin Alpacas was started in 2007 by Tim and Kristin Quinlan.   With a combined 25 years in the insurance industry, Tim and Kristin sought out the unique opportunity presented in the alpaca industry.  The challenge of obscurity and the benefit of uniqueness were two main ingredients in their decision to become a part of the alpaca community.  Having started with just three pregnant females, their foundation herd has grown quickly to nearly 20 breeding females.
